Last weekend, Kerri, the girls & I took off for a camping trip to Cobb & Co 9 Mile camp ground just south of Gympie. The nights were typically cool for this time of year but the
days were unbeatable & overall the weather was wonderful. I met the owners Sean & Katherine along with their kids. A locally owned & operated camping park where the whole
family get in & work for their supper.
With plenty of options when it comes to putting up a tent, we sought a comfortable spot near some shade on the cusp of some open space for the kids to run around on. Complete
with clean composting toilets & the luxury of an endless warm shower (Although coming off acreage, we use minimal water) it made for a camping trip that definitely got me back to
nature. Awoken by a few rowdy laughing Kookaburras (which I love) & a calming low lying fog through the valley it was just what the doctor ordered…… “a bit of R & R”.
We spent a relaxing afternoon with Sean, Katherine & their girls around the camp fire one afternoon. All of them got involved & kept us intrigued in the telling of the infamous
bushranger heist & the lost gold at the bottom of the on site billabong. It wasn’t till the end of the story that I found out it is a legitimate tale!
With over 50 acres of well looked after camp ground, clean amenities, being surrounded by bush, great old fashioned family service & only 45 minutes from home, we decided to
leave our camp site set up to head back this weekend for a few more nights.
Thanks guys, thoroughly enjoyed the experience! make sure you check them out for your self.
