G'day Happy Campers

Well what a busy month August 2011 was. Has there ever been a month with so much on? Locally we had finals & semi finals for a lot of sport, Brisbane Ekka, Brisbane Boat show, Splendour in Grass music festival at Woodford & of course the ever popular Gympie Music Muster. South East Queensland has been a buzz of excitement & you can really see the energy in people coming in to the store. Along with the music festivals comes camping & this type of camping is all about connecting with your good friends for a great weekend of pure fun. For those of you who made the effort good on you, camping really does soothe the mind, body & soul……

Father's Day

September Deals Promotion

I will be running the promotion up until the 16th of September. Very importantly it is for in store stock only. Jarrod's Camping Festival

Don't forget everyone that my upcoming Jarrod's Camping Festival is in October. With twice as much happening & loads of extra events than my prior campouts it is a weekend camping experience you'll never forget. This campout is going to be an absolute cracker & I have it totally jam packed full of entertainment for the entire weekend. Whether you love camping & getting together with friends, camping by yourself with your own piece of serenity, in a caravan, tent, camper trailer or even out under the stars, my Camping Festival will suit.

Gympie Music Muster

One of the great draw cards to boost tourism on the Sunshine Coast this August is the ever famous Gympie Music Muster. This year one of my staff members Eleni, went along for a few days & she had an absolute ball. Eleni set off with 3 of her best friends (Including my country music singing sister Olivia) & danced the weekend away. All though it was a "Mud Muster" this year, the girls armed themselves with gum boots & poncho's, with a decision made early on that the wet weather wasn't going to dampen their spirits. "As always with the Muster, the atmosphere and community spirit was ELECTRIC! We braved the rain at the Main Stage to be entertained by a 8 month pregnant Kasey Chambers and thoroughly enjoyed listening to Troy Cassar-Daley in one of the many tents." Eleni said. 

The Muster is a phenomenal experience for all ages, which honours the true spirit of Country Australia. 

Mark it in your diary for 2012. I didn't get there this year, but watch out Gympie next year!

Winner

As always we have a winner of our monthly giveaway. The August prize was a Food Vacuum starter kit valued at $89.95. This was won by Kym Achilles. Kim is currently off travelling around this beautiful country of ours. Well done Kim & thank you to all that entered.

Choice Award

How is this for great news?! Owner operator of our favourite Camping Brand "The Outdoor Connection." Local Buderim man Bill McCormack, has just achieved Australia's highest accolade in Tents. "Choice" have just awarded Bill & The Outdoor Connection top prize with one of their tent. His award winning model "The Weekender" came out on top against a plethora of tents sold throughout Australia. This is the very tent range I stock here in store at Camping Country Australia & solidly reinforces the type of quality that I supply in our local market. What I love the most about Bill & The Outdoor Connection is the fact he is a local family business & it proves that we family businesses can deliver much greater value than the multi-national corporate's of the world. Well done Bill what a great achievement!

Personal Note

Many people don't know, but I actually have a 5th member of my family. She is a 4 year old Cattle dog x black Labrador called Lilly. For Kerri & I to be honest with ourselves I think Lilly was a test pre kids, but what a fantastic asset to our family she is. She is a beautiful soul, well mannered & soft natured dog & my girls Sari & Maisie love her to bits. Every night she greets me home from work with the tail in full wag, we have a scratch, a long winded chat (I swear she knows what I am saying) & a mad dog run around the grass. She just so happens to be a camper as well. "You're a good pup Lil!"
