G'day Happy Campers.

Well hello sunshine & hello great camping weather! It took you a while but you got here just in time for the September holidays. I have some friends Belinda & Clint, that went camping in the hinterland town of Imbil. They camped at the Borumba Deer Park over the holidays & this is what Belinda wrote on Facebook:

" Great way to start holidays....camping at Imbil, no tv, computer, phone or computer games. Gorgeous weather, went for walks, swims & read. Kids fed deer's, made campfires, found a snake, made a great swing and tracked a goanna. The best bit was being together and creating childhood memories for the boys."

Love your work Belinda…..it just makes me want to go camping!

Gas Fills

As the warmer weather kicks in we all start to live outside at home. The minute we do this you can be sure that the great Aussie BBQ is going to cop a hiding for the summer months. As we all know to fuel a BBQ you need gas….& HAVE I GOT GAS FOR YOU!!! We are a proud supporter of Elgas & we are one of their largest decanting stations on the Sunny Coast. If you want a gas fill, I would love to fill it for you. My staff will carry it to & from your car for you & it will be filled on the spot there & then. If you are out of time & in a hurry, simply drop it off in the morning & pick it later or the next day ready to go. For the first 60 people to get your gas bottle filled over the next week, you will receive for free a $9.90 Elgas sports water bottle. Be sure not to miss out.

Fishing Fun!

As you all know camping is my "number one" passion. There is simply nothing better than getting back to nature. But a not too distant second to camping for me is fishing. I am a social member for a new family orientated fishing club here on the coast & last Sunday the 2nd of October we had our monthly club fishing competition weigh in. The weigh in was held at our local club head quarters, "The Kawana Surf Club" & it was a beautiful day had by all. The weather wasn't too great to get outside for a fish, so not a lot of fish were weighed in but between the awesome food dished up by the club (I can highly recommend it!!) the cool drinks, great people & a large outside area for my girls to run around on it was a fantastic time had by all.

Winner

For those of you who read my last month's news letter you will remember that we were giving away an Outdoor Connection Tent called the Weekender. Outdoor Connection is a family business & owned by a local Buderim resident, Bill McCormack. Bill took out Choice Magazines tent of the year with this tent last month. Bill kindly donated the tent for giveaway last month & it was proudly won by a local man Derek McCann. Well done Derek…happy tenting & thank you to all that entered.

Competition

This month's competition is a beauty. It's an Ice Mate ice box supplied by another great local business Evakool. It's a 64 litre super tough plastic icebox that will hold block ice up to 5 days no worries. You can sit on it, throw it around in the back of your ute & it will last for years. Valued at $249 it will keep the drinks ice cold in the scorching hot summer ahead. As always, this giveaway competition is for my store only & for the month of October only. Good luck to you all & to enter simply click here.

September Hols

The September holidays have been & gone. I am betting all those mums are glad that the kiddies are back at school & a little bit of piece & quiet is doing you well. The coast was a buzz with tourists these holidays. Sunshine Coast destinations should be chuffed with having done a good job regarding tourism. I constantly saw the restaurants filled at Mooloolaba, no vacancy signs on many of the apartments & of course most of the camp grounds were full to the brim. I met many Australia wide visitors to the coast here in store over the holidays & it's good to see them supporting our local community & tourism.

Melbourne Cup

In about 3 weeks the "day that stops a nation" hits us. Kerri & I have decided to head on down to Caloundra to the races. A very good friend of ours has us booked into a corporate tent with as much food & drink as we want (thanks Lou!). I am not a betting man but I do enjoy the atmosphere of people having fun, it feels great to dress up for the day & it's great to catch up with some real good friends. I don't know one end of a horse from the other, so any helpful hints I will take on board gladly. Good luck to you all. If you are looking to go to the races, chairs are always hard to find. Why not take your own?? We have some ultra compact & light weight aluminum framed chairs you can throw over your shoulder & chill out in for the day. Come in & check them out

That's all Folk's

That's all for another month folk's. I hope you enjoyed this month's newsletter. I'm off camping next week myself for 6 days. Not sure where to go as yet, but am possibly looking at Yamba being the destination of choice. Any advice on what to do, where to go & what to see in Yamba would be greatly appreciated Click Here. Well done to Derek on your new tent & good luck to you all with the icebox giveaway. Also well done to those of you who got away for the September holidays, it's been a wild old year & a well earned break was taken I would say. Don't forget to back a winner on the Melbourne Cup, I might just see you at the races. Last but not least, thank you to Belinda for your emotionally gratifying short paragraph on your last camping trip. So much said with such little written……it really does make me feel like camping.

Talk soon,

Jarrod.
