Hello every one.
I have some great news! My wife Kerri has decided to come on board as an employee of Camping Country Australia. Kerri's a bit nervous about meeting all our long term & loyal customers that know mum, dad and I. But I have assured her that you will all make her feel very welcome. So I thought I would start with her as our Staff Profile.
Staff Profile: Kerri Michael
You can all call her Kezza (Minister for war & finance at home).
Kez grew up in the small town of Maryborough, Queensland's sporting capital. She has a qualified trade in pre press & has spent quite a few years as a graphic artist. Kerri just loves camping....otherwise I certainly wouldn't have married her. Her favourite camping spot is right here on our door step. She loves nothing more than waking up camping & looking at the ocean up at Double Island Point. She made her smarter choices in life, "Like hooking up with me!!"
& giving me the best thing in the world, our 2 Daughters Maisie & Sari. She is just starting with 2 days a week after having 2 kids. So make sure you come in & say hello. "Good have you here Kez."
Farm Fantastic
I saw quite a few of our customers the weekend of the 16th July at Farm Fantastic Caboolture. What a great show. The weather was just incredible. Clear skies, no wind & a warm sunny days. I just love machinery, I don't know why? It might be that I was born a Mallee Boy??
We took quite a bit of Gear down to show case. Evakool fridge/freezers & iceboxes, Coleman's camping gear. I had a complete Tarp display set up & a wide range of Caravan accessories for sale. I took down 2 Bushboy Camper Trailers & my own personal new Camper. (See below)
We had 2 competitions. The first prize was a "Coleman" Foxy Lady Lounger & it was won by Jenni Miller. The second prize was a "Coleman" Foxy Lady Sleeping Bag & it was won by Bob Ross. Congratulations guys & thank you to our great friends at Coleman.
New Product
I have produced a new Camper Trailer branded "Camping Country Australia" It is my very own model "Jarrod's" & it was the most looked at product on our stand by far at Farm Fantastic. Kerri & I designed it together. It is the 6th Trailer we have made for ourselves over the years & this one I designed to make life easy for Kerri & our kids. Between mum, dad & I, we have sold just over 3000 camper trailers right here on the Sunshine Coast over the past 15 years as a family business. It is the higher end of quality & features & retails for $24,990 registration included.
Kerri is a little scared of gas, so I have made it easy for her by ensuring all appliances are electronic push button ignition. Incidentally, I put this complete camper up in 17minutes.
A Cat amongst the Pigeons
We have had a major interruption just come in to the table of late & it has really put a cat amongst the pigeons. Unfortunately we have had to cancel our Campout next month on the 20, 21 & 22nd of August, due to it being the day of the election. But don't panic, I will be postponing it to another date & I will get the information to you over the next few weeks. For all of you who booked & paid, we will either refund your money or we can carry it over to the next date. Your choice. We will personally be contacting you. On another unbelievable issue, my Entertainment & singer for the campout (My sister Olivia Robins) couldn't make it as well. Because she has just been successful in her trial with the new upcoming show X-Factor. Olivia has made it through all her trials & is on her way to Sydney. Good luck poodle! We are cheering for you. Make sure you watch it, Olivia is just incredible!!!
Watch this space!!
Starting this Saturday we will be holding in store cooking demonstrations every Saturday at 10:45am. The demonstrations will be conducted by our staff. We will be cooking our favourite tried & tested meals for you. This Saturday will be our first trial & a little bird told me it could be my favourite stew. "Given to me a couple of years ago by my brother in law Brett..........who just happens to be a 5 star resort chef!!!! "Come down & have a look... maybe even a taste? Recipes will be in our September Newsletter.
Web Site
That's right, you will all be ecstatic to know that I have hired a Marketing & Event Manager here in store. Her name is Terri Stock. I won't tell you too much about Terri just yet. But you will see some of her work starting to come through with some changes on our web site & all promotional work from now on. Make sure you check out the changes on line.
Kids Colouring Competition
I have a new Colouring In Competition for the kids. Simply go on line to our web site at www.campingcountryaustralia.com.au & click on the Competition icon. Down load & print the Diagram & get the kids to start colouring. Once the picture is complete. Simply fill in the details, including your contact details at the back of the form, bring it in to the store & we will put it up on the board for everyone to see. My daughter Maisie will pick the winner (At a ripe old age of 2 & a 1/2) & whoever wins, will win a Coleman Kids Chair valued at $29.95! Competition closes on the 31st of August. Good luck kids!!
A great Community Club
I had the opportunity to get involved with a fantastically run local community & family based fishing Club. They are called the Sunshine Coast Sportfishing Club. Thursday the 8th of July the club held their Annual General Meeting in store here at Camping Country Australia. This was the first time the Annual General Meeting has been held external of the Coast Guard premises. Once all the formalities were out of the way the meeting took flight. Plenty of laughs & fun was had by all with an amazing result; the club raffle raised $255....a club record. Brett Mills from Ken Mills Toyota (also a sponsor) won the night's major prize. This was a catalytic camping heater donated by our favourite partner "Coleman". For more information regarding the Sunshine Coast Sportfishing Club, simply go on to our web site www.campingcountryaustralia.com.au & click on their logo on our "pals & buddy" section. I personally had a great night.....thanks guys!
Last but not least...
I know it has been a bit cold, but Spring is just around the corner. The flowers will be coming
out, the bees are buzzing & I reckon spring is the BEST TIME OF YEAR TO GET CAMPING! So all you people that struggle with the cold, it's almost gone. Scrape the cob webs off the tent, oil up the camp oven & get the kids outside to run around in the grass. Camping is healthy for them!!!
Come in & see us... We will get you sorted ready for the camping season.
I hope to see you in store personally.
Jarrod.
