On Saturday the 29th October the Maroochydore Scout group had an open day & they gave me an invitation to come along & support them. I met some fantastic people & I was just so inspired by all the kids that are part of the Maroochydore Scout’s as to how enthusiastic & motivated they are. I saw them build a water balloon firing catapult from scratch, there were jumping castles for the kids, they did some damper cooking demo’s & on top of that I met some great wonderful people.
Two of those people were volunteers Karl & Heather from Wilvos. Wilvos is the “Wildlife Volunteers Assoc. Inc.” They are proud supporters of the Maroochydore Scout Group. Heather was feeding little “Monty” while I was there. He is a baby CBT, Common Brushtail Possum. All the animals I saw had lost their parents due to some unfortunate circumstances & great people like Karl & Heather nursed them back to health. The amazing story is that so many animals are often released back in to the wild down the track. Simon Godfrey is a group leader at The Maroochydore Scouts & he is always wanting more kids to join, it’s so good for them. “Thanks for the opportunity Simon!”
